Hello, I’m Josee (she/her), and I offer a creative approach to psychotherapy, in-person in central Glasgow. Talking is always an option, and there are always creative materials available for use.
When working creatively, there is absolutely no need for any creative or artistic skill, or experience. The focus is on the process – your experience of creating, and any meaning there may be.
My approach is rooted in both person-centred and psychodynamic therapies. In practice, this means that I’ll help facilitate your process in the direction and at a pace that works for you. I’ll also be bringing an understanding of how past relationships impact present day relationships, including the therapeutic one. Other theories/approaches that influence my work include; the biology of relationships and emotions, and, how identities and society’s systems affect us. I’ll relate to you and your process with warmth, realness, empathy and curiosity.
Experiences I have worked with include; anxiety, neglect, abuse, trauma, bereavement, care-experience, adoption, and transitions. I have worked with people with neurodivergence (in therapy) and other disabilities (in community and mental health settings).
- Simply put, creative approaches can help express what is hard to put into words.
– I trained as a Play Therapist (MSc, BAPT) and have focused my practice on adults.
– I strive to offer an inclusive space and bring an intersectional lens.
– Venue is wheelchair accessible, and very near multiple public transport links.
With the 20% NHS discount, the session cost will be £40.

A bit about me:
Prior to setting up CoCreate, I worked in the third sector with children, young people and their parents/carers, and as a mental health support worker with adults. Alongside this part-time practice, I work as a community engagement officer for a wellbeing centre. I also volunteer for an equalities group of a trans-inclusive women’s organisation, and have a background in mindfulness facilitation. I have personal experience of work-related stress and burn-out. Some things I enjoy are crafting, and looking after my indoor and outdoor plants!
